If you are interested in developing, building and maintaining great trails, this is a workshop for you. Renowned trail consultant Woody Keen, from Trail Wisdom, will present this educational workshop covering trail planning, design and maintenance and he will answer the important question, ‘what makes a sustainable trail’?

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Woody, as well as local land managers and like-minded users interested in trail development, building, advocacy and maintenance.

Saturday, February 22nd 10 AM – 3 PM, REI Paradise Valley

10:00 – 10:30 Welcome and Introductions
10:30 – 12:30: The different aspects of trail sustainability, the who what and why of trail planning, developing trail specifications, conceptual alignment, going from planning to on- ground design
12:30 – 1:30 Lunch – on your own
1:30 – 2:30: Solutions based assessment processes, planning for physical and social sustainability, setting priorities and the importance of education
2:30 – 3:00 Questions and wrap-up
